Bonus Extras

COMMENTS: This is one of the pair of drumsticks that I used during my first gig. After the performance, I gave one stick to my friend (Shannon Wade, of Slay Ride fame). The other stick was given to my girlfriend at the time (Carle),

The sticks "autographed/personalized" by me. Although not too visible in this picture, the inscription in black ink towards the tip of the stick reads: "To Carle, Thanx for the support. From Destroyer's first gig 17/08/91" (It was signed after midnight, hence 17 not 16) I didn't realize at the time that this would be the key evidence needed to establish the actual date of my first gig ever. Now, many many years later, I am so glad that I took the time to add this little detail.

You will notice this stick is a Vic Firth American Classic 2B. (The black marks are from ProMark Stick Wrap that was applied at the time.) As I was just starting out as a drummer I hadn't yet established a favorite in regards to drumsticks. I later discovered Vic Firth's "Tommy Lee signature sticks" which have almost and extra inch extra in length. (Red nylon tip), but as these were discontinued, I moved to the ProMark 2B which has turned out to be the best stick for my style of percussion. I have loyally been using these sticks exclusively ever since.
