Weekend Argus Supplement - Rave Section - 04-01-1992

The Weekend Argus Supplement"Rave Section" dated 04 January 1992 - This printed article was not actually "about" Raven Wolf at all, in fact it was an interview that was done with another local band of the time called "Stub n Ash". (We tied for first place with them at The Stage's "Battle of the Bands" competition, where some recording time was awarded as a prize.) This is a whole story on it's own, and you can read the full story about that in the "history" section.

Nevertheless, it seems that we got some interresting mentions during this interview:

- "To us that's not heavy metal. We see metal as Iron Maiden, Metallica or Raven Wolf."

- "I'd say that Raven Wolf are probably our nearest rivals because they're pretty organized and produce good music."

Always nice to be talked about with the likes of Iron Maiden and Metallica. Ironically, we did a cover of Iron Maiden's "Phantom of the Opera", as well as some Metallica covers "Fade to Black", "The Four Horsemen", "Seek and Destroy", "For whom the bell tolls" and

even "Nothing Else Matters" at a much later stage. (Although I don't recall ever performing that live.)

I can't help but wonder if perhaps the association to these groups arose from this fact, but either way, I take it as a compliment.

Sadly "Stub n Ash" vanished from the scene not to shortly after this article was published. I have never heard of any of the members since then. The "much talked about" recording that they did at The Stage (with their awarded recording time) never got to see the light of day, as far as an official release is concerned.
